An Education Guide For Building
Globally Competent Students

This online guide aims to assist teachers in my local community to become
proactive leaders in the global community.
It will provide authentic learning resources for educators and
their students, that are accessible and usable in their classrooms.

What is Global Education and WHY is it important?

Why is global competency an educational priority
for schools?

  • Schools are charged with empowering future leaders to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and caring, competent citizens.  They are encouraging their students to be ready to take on global issues.  However, in order to achieve this,  our communities need to collaborate, grow, and develop a global mindset that reaches beyond the classroom walls.

  • The objective of this online guide is to assist your community in reaching that goal.  We need to learn and share with one another best practices that will help develop a child's worldview and prepare them to be global change makers.  This process must be ongoing- consistently infused throughout the curriculum and educational system, and even ingrained in daily routines.  I hope you find useful resources on this site that will help you do just that.

How To Use This Guide:

This site is divided into three main pages - Seek, Study, Share, with a fourth Community page, dedicated to global work around my school community in Florida.
Each section will provide information and links to resources
that will help you develop globally focused curricula and lessons.

This site will help educational leaders create opportunities for intercultural communication, collaboration, and skill development to
address global issues.
