Global Education Teacher Resources

This all sounds great, but now WHERE DO I BEGIN?!?! Right here! Explore the links below to find authentic lessons you can adapt to fit your classroom.  For example, start with the UNHDP's 17 Sustainable Development Goals! You could choose ONE goal, and plan a class lesson around it (Or I assigned my A.P. Environmental students each a different goal to research, then had them collaborate their findings into one shared Google Slides class presentation- see file below).

Or check out the AWESOME journalism link to find real journalists' work on current global issues and capture students interest through photos and videos!  Just begin with one class period, one lesson- then you can slowly expand to an entire unit (see my example of a Biology globalized unit plan on climate change).  Wherever you choose to begin- JUST TAKE ACTION! That's a global competency, remember??

Last but not least- don't forget to apply for international travel experiences for teachers (There are some great ones for your students, too). The best way to open up your creativity and learn about global issues is to experience them for yourself! So, get that passport ready and be a 'teach' with a 'global reach'!
